Alison Dare is not your typical 12-year-old girl. She’s the daughter of world-renowned archaeologist Dr. Alice Dare and the masked superhero the Blue Scarab, not to mention the niece of international spy and master of disguise Johnny Dare. Action and awesomeness are in her blood.
What better place to visit than The Chess Comic to find Action and Awesomeness?
Tundra Books are having a blog tour for their new editions of J.Torres' and J.Bone's Alison Dare Graphic Novels and we are on it...sort of. Comics in the Classroom is on the tour and since I am the boss of Comics in the Classroom and The Chess Comic and We Fight Robots, I thought we would all join the party!
The idea is that participating blogs print out selected pictures of Alison Dare and put her in photos to highlight her thirst for adventure.
Computer is still down, so I have to use one of my stored up "World Tour" strips. Sorry about there not being a strip last week. I;ll make it up down the line. I'll have to to keep up with my promise of 52 strips in 52 weeks of 2010.
I like the second one with the red background, but my daughter and wife overruled me. My wife had the idea to include a giant heart rising from behind like a sunrise, but since the scanner is down I can't add it in....so use your imagination...aaah - that's beautiful!
I am experiencing computer problems once again. I am now on a salvage mission as opposed to a rescue mission. I believe it is time to upgrade. I think next week's will be a gag strip I have already completed (I had been looking for an excuse to use it).
I can't believe how wrong I got the Bishop placement on panel 2. In my defense, I didn't actually mean that the B actually started where I have it on the board, just that the paths I show all stay on black. However, by the time I got to panel 3 I must have subconsciously figured it out. Or something like that.
